The right markets at the right time.

To capitalize on high growth opportunities, you must be in the right place at the right time. Forestar is doing just that by investing in strategic growth corridors. These markets feature significant characteristics for growth in population, employment and household formation - the key factors influencing new housing demand.

Our investment strategy is designed to capitalize on opportunities afforded by long- and near-term growth influences while reducing our exposure to localized market volatility. As part of this strategy, we have identified ten such corridors, mainly in the southern half of the United States. All ten present attractive long-term real estate investment opportunities with migration being driven largely by climate, job opportunities and access to quality education.

10 most Important U.S. Growth Corridors

These ten strategic growth corridors encompass less than 5% of the total U.S. surface area, yet are home to 29% of the population. Population density in these areas is almost seven times the national average, and is projected to grow at nine times the national average before 2030. During that time, these corridors are projected to garner approximately 43% of the nation's population growth and 38% of total employment growth. Estimated housing demand from these growth corridors from 2003–2030 exceeds 23 million new homes.
