Phil has served Forestar as Executive Vice President - Real Estate since October 2009.
Phil has served Forestar as Executive Vice President - Real Estate since October 2009. He served the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) as Senior Vice President – Multifamily from 2006 to October 2009, as Chief of Staff to the CEO from 2004 to 2006, and in other management roles prior to 2004.
Phil received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University after completing his legal studies at Southern Methodist University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Christian University.
Tom Etheredge
Executive Vice President - Multifamily Operations
Tom has served as our Executive Vice President since 2006.
Tom has served as our Executive Vice President since 2006. He was a member of Guaranty Bank’s commercial real estate lending segment from 1992 to 2006, where he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Eastern Region from 1999 to 2006, and as Vice President and Division Manager from 1997 to 1999.
Tom's background includes over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, including key management positions focused on business development and relationship management, structured finance, strategic partnerships, and risk-management. He graduated from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, with a degree in Economics.
Wayne McDonald
Senior Vice President - Multifamily Acquisitions
Wayne has been employed by Forestar and/or its predecessor companies for the past 18 years.
Wayne has been employed by Forestar and/or its predecessor companies for the past 18 years. He currently serves as head of Multifamily Acquisitions. He has previously served as head of Residential Development for Central and South Texas and has managed the income producing portfolio of Forestar for the past 10 years.
Wayne received his Master of Business Administration from the Option II Program at the University of Texas is 1994 and his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Texas in 1985.
Shelly Rosales
Senior Vice President – Asset Management
Shelly joined Forestar in 2011 as Senior Vice President - Multifamily Asset Management.
Shelly joined Forestar in 2011 as Senior Vice President - Multifamily Asset Management. Shelly brings more than 30 years of operation and asset management experience in the multifamily industry on both a regional and national level.
Prior to Forestar, Shelly worked for such organizations as JPI, Larry Peel and Westdale Asset Management. She has been involved in the development of more than 20 assets totaling $500 million and overseen more than 10,000 units and 350 employees. Shelly attended Northwood University where she studied business management. She holds a Texas Real Estate license, a CAM and CAPS designation from the National Apartment Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Austin Apartment Association.
Brad Walters
Vice President - Multifamily Development
Brad joined Forestar in 2010 as Vice President of Multifamily Development.
Brad joined Forestar in 2010 as Vice President of Multifamily Development. Prior to joining Forestar, he was a Managing Director at Trammell Crow Residential where he was responsible for the development of over 2,000 apartment units with a total capitalization of $250 million. Before that, Brad served in development and finance roles with Carmel Partners, a private equity real estate firm managing $1.3 billion in discretionary equity capital focused on developing and repositioning multifamily assets in the western United States.
Dustin Slack
Vice President - Multifamily Development
Dustin joined Forestar in 2012 as Vice President of Multifamily Development.
Dustin joined Forestar in 2012 as Vice President of Multifamily Development. Prior to joining Forestar, Dustin supervised the planning and construction of more than 3,000 multi-family units with McShane Development Company from 2006 to 2012 and Trammell Crow Residential South Central Division between 2001 and 2006. Dustin received his MBA from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in 2001, earned his registration as a Licensed Architect in 1996 and graduated from the University of Texas, School of Architecture, in 1993.
Greg Schmittou
Vice President - Multifamily Construction
Greg joined Forestar in August 2012 as Vice President of Multifamily Construction.
Greg joined Forestar in August 2012 as Vice President of Multifamily Construction. Greg brings more than 30 years of construction management experience in the single-family and multifamily industries on both a regional and national level.
Prior to Forestar, Greg worked for such organizations as JLB Partners, Fairfield Developers and Larry Peel Co. He has been involved in the development of more than 10,000 multifamily units in both podium and garden style projects. Greg’s experience in builting high density inner city and suburban garden style multifamily projects throughout his career has enabled him to work with city planners, developers and officials in high profile settings.
