Jeff Portwood

Senior Vice President - Fiber Resources Land Management

Jeff joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management in the Western and Eastern Regions along with East Texas land sales.

Jeff joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management in the Western and Eastern Regions along with East Texas land sales. From 2000 to 2007, he held various leadership positions within Temple-Inland’s Forest segment. Prior to 2000, he held land resources management positions with James River Corporation and successor companies.

Jeff’s background includes over 25 years of land management-related experience throughout the southeastern United States, with focus on commercial timberland ownership and divestiture, integrated business leadership, conservation practices, and forest certification. He has been involved in over 2 million acres of timberland transactions. He holds a real estate license in the state of Texas. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science Degree in forest resources management.

Bob Luk

Manager Land & Timber Sales

Bob joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management in north Georgia and coordinates the Georgia and Alabama timber sales activities for Forestar.

Bob joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management in north Georgia and coordinates the Georgia and Alabama timber sales activities for Forestar. Bob’s background includes over 25 years of land management and wood procurement related experience throughout the United States. From 1998 to 2007, he worked with Temple Inland’s Rome, GA wood procurement organization as operations and harvest manager. Prior to 1998, he worked 15 years for Georgia Pacific holding various positions in land management, land acquisition and divestiture, tree improvement, wood procurement and logistics and forest finance.

Bob is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Forestry and Conservation. He has attended management development programs at Emery University Business School and University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and holds a real estate license in the state of Georgia.

Tim West

Area Land Manager - East

Tim joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management on Forestar properties in Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia.

Tim joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management on Forestar properties in Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia. From 1981 to 2007 he held various procurement and management positions with Temple Inland, Inland Container and Georgia Kraft Company.

Tim’s background includes over 20 years of land management, operational leadership and business planning. He has been involved with numerous land exchanges. He is a graduate of Auburn University from which he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry Management and of Jacksonville State University from which he earned a Master in Business Administration. He is licensed in real estate with the State of Alabama.

Jesse Thompson

Area Land Manager - East

Jesse joined Forestar in 2008 and is responsible for land management activities in the Eastern Region’s Southern Area.

Jesse joined Forestar in 2008 and is responsible for land management activities in the Eastern Region’s Southern Area. He also provides oversight of East Recreational Leases, as well as coordination of timber inventory activities for the East. From 1996 through 1999 Jesse served as Research Forester for Inland Container Corporation, a Temple-Inland subsidiary. From 2000 to 2007, he served in various forest and land management roles within Temple-Inland’s Forest segment.

Jesse’s background includes over 15 years of forest industry experience in the southeastern United States, with focus on intensive pine silviculture, forest products marketing, conservation practices, and forest certification. He is a Registered Forester in Georgia and Alabama and holds a real estate license in the State of Georgia. Jesse is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he earned Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science Degrees in Forest Resources Management and Forest Biology, respectively. Jesse also served 6 years in the Army National Guard.

Stan Cook

Area Land Manager - West

Stan joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management in the Western Region along with assisting in East Texas land sales.

Stan joined Forestar in 2007 and is responsible for land management in the Western Region along with assisting in East Texas land sales. From 1988 to 2007, he held various positions within Temple-Inland’s Forest and Wildlife departments.

Stan’s background includes over 25 years of land management-related experience in East Texas, with a focus on conservation forestry practices, forest certification, and commercial timberland management. He has been involved in over a million acres of timberland transactions. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources Management and a Master of Forestry degree.
